Official Synopsis - "Heaven Sent" - Series 9, Episode 11


The BBC have released the synopsis for the penultimate episode in Series 9 - "Heaven Sent" - which will air on BBC 1 on Saturday 28 November 2015:
Trapped in a world unlike any other he has seen, the Doctor faces the greatest challenge of his many lives. One final test. And he must face it alone. 
Pursued by the fearsome creature known only as the Veil, he must attempt the impossible. If he makes it through, Gallifrey is waiting…

Official Synopsis - Episode 7 - "The Zygon Invasion"


The BBC have revealed the synopsis for episode 7 of Series 9 - "The Zygon Invasion" - which will air on BBC1 on Saturday 31 October 2015 at a time yet to be confirmed:
The Zygons, a race of shapeshifting aliens, have been living in secret among us on Earth, unknown and unseen - until now! 
When Osgood is kidnapped by a rogue gang of Zygons, the Doctor, Clara and UNIT must scatter across the world in a bid to set her free. But will they reach her in time, and can they stop an uprising before it’s too late?

Official Synopsis - Episode 5 - The Girl Who Died


The BBC have revealed the synopsis for episode 5 of Series 9 - "The Girl Who Died" - which will air on BBC1 on Saturday 17 October 2015 at a time yet to be confirmed:
Captured by Vikings, the Doctor and Clara must help protect their village from Space Warriors from the future: the Mire. Outnumbered and outgunned, their fate seems inevitable. So why is the Doctor preoccupied with a single Viking girl?

"The Witch's Familiar" - Official Synopsis


The wealth of information continues as the BBC release the official synopsis for the 2nd episode of Series 9 - "The Witch's Familiar":

"Death in Heaven" - Official Synopsis


It really doesn't seem THAT long ago that we were sitting down to watch "Deep Breath" yet here we are with only 3 episodes of Series 8 left.  Below is the synopsis for the Series 8 finale, "Death in Heaven" which will air on BBC1 on Saturday 8 November 2014:

The BBC have released the synopsis for the upcoming Frank Cottrell Boyce episode, "In the Forest of the Night" which will air on Saturday 25 October 2014 at 8.30pm:
One morning, in every city and town in the world, the human race wakes up to face the most surprising invasion yet. 
Everywhere, in every land, a forest has grown overnight and taken back the Earth. It doesn’t take the Doctor long to discover that the final days of humanity have arrived…

"Flatline" - Official Synopsis


The BBC have released the official synopsis for "Flatline" which will air on BBC1 on Saturday 18 October 2014.  The time is yet to be announced but I would guess at around 8.30pm.
Separated from the Doctor, Clara discovers a new menace from another dimension. 
But how do you hide when even the walls are no protection? With people to save and the Doctor trapped, Clara comes up against an enemy that exists beyond human perception.

"Mummy on the Orient Express" - Official Synopsis


The BBC have released the official synopsis for episode 8 of the current series, "Mummy on the Orient Express" which will air on Saturday 11 October 2014 at 8.30pm:
The Doctor and Clara are on the most beautiful train in history, speeding among the stars of the future - but they are unaware that a deadly creature is stalking the passengers.

"Kill the Moon" - Official Synopsis


The BBC have released the synopsis for "Kill the Moon" which will air on BBC1 on Saturday 4 October 2014. 

In the near future, the Doctor and Clara find themselves on a space shuttle making a suicide mission to the Moon.
Crash-landing on the lunar surface, they find a mining base full of corpses, vicious spider-like creatures poised to attack, and a terrible dilemma.
When Clara turns to the Doctor for help, she gets the shock of her life.

"Kill the Moon" is written by Peter Harness and guest stars Hermione Norris.

"The Caretaker" - Official Synopsis


The BBC have released the official synopsis for episode 6, "The Caretaker", which will air on BBC 1 on Saturday 27 September 2014:
The terrifying Skovox Blitzer is ready to destroy all humanity - but worse, and any second now, Danny Pink and the Doctor are going to meet. 
When terrifying events threaten Coal Hill school, the Doctor decides to go undercover.
Steven Moffat wrote briefly about "The Caretaker" in his Radio Times episode guide:
"Clara has it all under control: her life at school, her life in space; her new boyfriend and her mad old Time Lord. Everything is humming along just fine, so long as everybody never actually meets. And then, one morning, just before assembly, Coal Hill welcomes a new relief caretaker with a Scottish accent."

The BBC have released the official synopsis for "Robot of Sherwood" which is due to air on BBC1 on Saturday 6 September 2014:
In a sun-dappled Sherwood forest, the Doctor discovers an evil plan from beyond the stars and strikes up an unlikely alliance with Robin Hood.
