"UNIT Revisitations" - Jemma Redgrave - Synopsis and Pre-Order Details

Big Finish have released the synopsis for "UNIT Revisitations" which is due in November:
Over the years, UNIT has faced hundreds of extra-terrestrial threats. The Black Archive holds relics of many such encounters, and UNIT’s files are filled with reports of strange and dangerous aliens.
And sometimes, they come back.
7.1 and 7.2 Hosts of the Wirrn by Chris Chapman
After the world’s strangest interview, UNIT’s latest recruit, Shana Siddiqui, hits the ground running to help Osgood with her latest assignment.
The Master left UNIT a parting gift – something alien and deadly. The Wirrn have come to Earth, and now they are free…

7.3 Breach of Trust by David K Barnes
An alien vessel arrives on Earth, its occupants seeking refuge, and Osgood takes them in.
But there is reason to mistrust this cry for help. The files show that UNIT has faced the Kalvyri before. What else they reveal will set Kate at odds with her most trusted friends.

7.4 Open the Box by Roy Gill
In the years since the Stangmoor Prison incident, Captain Chin Lee found a new calling. She now heads up an international organisation, dedicated to meditation and ‘mental fortitude’ training.

But there is a menace deep inside the Pandora Institute. And Kate, Osgood and Josh must face their darkest fears…

UNIT Revisitations - Cover and Details Released

Big Finish have released details of the next UNIT audio release - coming in November.  I'm sure I'm not alone in being seriously excited that the Wirrn are back.  Also - another tale from Roy Gill who wrote the very impressive "Invocation" in UNIT Encounters.
And it’s a wrap on the next series of tales for the UNIT team! After saving humanity from a new alien paradigm in Cyber-Reality, the UNIT Team face more intergalactic threats in their seventh series of adventures in UNIT – Revisitations.
Coming out in November this year, a couple of familiar foes are returning and UNIT is humanity’s best and only defence against them. In UNIT – Revisitations, the team are still reeling after the consequences of UNIT – Cyber-Reality – but the threats just keep on coming!
This next box set finds the UNIT team fighting an incursion of the Wirrn (first seen in the Fourth Doctor television story The Ark in Space) in a tale by Chris Chapman, there’s a morality drama by David K Barnes, and the return of Pik- Sen Lim as Chin Lee (originally in the Third Doctor story The Mind of Evil), now a Doctor herself in an adventure by Roy Gill. Will we also see a return of the fearful Keller Machine?
7.1 and 7.2 Hosts of the Wirrn by Chris Chapman
7.3 Breach of Trust by David K Barnes
7.4 Open the Box by Roy Gill
Jemma Redgrave returns as Kate Stewart, leader of UNIT, joined by Ingrid Oliver as Osgood, UNIT’s Scientific Advisor, James Joyce as Captain Josh Carter and Ramon Tikaram as Colonel Shindi. (For everyone missing Warren Brown as Sam Bishop, you can catch him in August’s box set, Lady Christina, opposite Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina de Souza).

Audio - UNIT Encounters - Cover Art and New Details

Big Finish have released the cover art and a few new details about the fifth UNIT audio - UNIT Encounters - which will be released in November.
The new UNIT team are back in UNIT: Encounters! Here's the cover art for the fifth set of UNIT Adventures, out in November.
Kate Stewart (played by Jemma Redgrave), Osgood (played by Ingrid Oliver) and the UNIT team are back! Coming out in November, the latest in the New Series of the UNIT adventures sees the team against Daleks, Sontarans, and their greatest threat yet.
Kate Stewart is the Head of Scientific Research for the Unified Intelligence Taskforce; an international initiative to investigate and confront alien attacks across the planet Earth. The daughter of the legendary Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Kate and her team battle against the Universe's greatest threats.
Today we can unveil the cover for UNIT: Encounters, which was designed by Tom Webster.
We chatted with Tom Webster about this latest artwork, “Really loved doing this one! It was different from the previous editions, in that it was four separate encounters as opposed to a single story thread running through each episode. I usually try to paint a scene with the UNITcovers, but it didn't feel right to do it with this one. It looks rather distinctive I think. Also, two Kates was great fun, I hope people are suitably intrigued!”
This new box set features four stories by Big Finish Doctor Who writers Matt Fitton, Roy Gill, Andrew Smith and John Dorney.
The Dalek Transaction by Matt Fitton
When a rogue guerrilla faction offer an alien artefact for auction, Kate Stewart and her team go undercover to the jungles of Central America. But they find that the prize on offer is far deadlier than its owners realise. Captive, desperate and alone. That’s when a Dalek is at its most dangerous.
Invocation by Roy Gill
It’s Hallowe’en, and Josh finds himself at a party where phantoms are becoming all too real. Osgood is working late and hears a voice from the skies making strange incantations. The next day, Kate has gone missing in the Scottish Borders, and the team head north to investigate. Ghosts from the past are haunting UNIT, and now they threaten the whole world…
The Sontaran Project by Andrew Smith
On a routine reconnaissance mission, Colonel Shindi finds more than he bargains for in the Forest of Ardennes. Back in England, an old colleague makes Osgood an offer she cannot refuse. The chance to take part in an exciting new scientific advance. Before long, UNIT is on collision course with a force of alien clones, and Kate must forge an unlikely alliance.
False Negative by John Dorney
When a strange travel capsule is activated in UNIT’s laboratory, Osgood and Josh find themselves in a whole new world of trouble. Soon, nobody at UNIT HQ is quite who they seem, and the team discovers that the greatest danger they could ever face comes from within...
You can pick up this new box set upon its deployment in November, currently available at the pre-order price of £23 on CD or £20 on download. Every CD purchase unlocks a download copy, which is available via the Big Finish app

New and Classic UNIT feature in "UNIT: Assembled"

Big Finish have released details of the May 2017 UNIT audio - "UNIT Assembled".  This one is a bit special and, as a UNIT fan from way back, I'm rather excited about it.  "UNIT Assembled" will feature both New and Classic series UNIT - joining Jemma Redgrave and Ingrid Oliver will be Katy Manning, John Levene and Richard Franklin:
New and classic eras of UNIT will come together in Big Finish’s four-disc audio drama UNIT: Assembled, which is released in May 2017. The ongoing series, which tells the further adventures of Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and Osgood (Ingrid Oliver) gains three special recruits for the box set - Jo Jones (Katy Manning), John Benton (John Levene) and Mike Yates (Richard Franklin).
‘We went into our UNIT audio dramas with the aim of keeping them centred on the new series era of the organisation,’ says producer David Richardson. ‘But after two years of releases, the time has come to look fondly to the past… and when an old enemy threatens the world, Kate Stewart needs the help of her father’s colleagues.’
The old enemy in question is the Silurian race, here represented in their new series form and played by Richard Hope and Neve McIntosh (who worked together as Silurians in The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood).
‘A hibernating population of reptiles has awoken,’ David reveals, ‘and their leader Jastrok has a very different plan for getting the world back and ridding it of the pesky apes.’
One episode in the box set also centres on the Sea Devils, as Jo Jones must try and fill the shoes of her Doctor in order to save the world. Nicholas Briggs, the voice of the Daleks, plays the Sea Devil leader Krellix.
‘I’m so thrilled by this box set,’ says David. ‘It’s a great big story but full of heart and loving references to the past - little Easter Eggs that will delight everyone who has seen the era of the Third Doctor. And it was wonderful to have such legends as Katy, John and Richard with us at the recording, acting together in those roles for the first time since 1974. For everyone involved, this was very special indeed.’
UNIT: Assembled is written by Matt Fitton and Guy Adams, and directed by Ken Bentley. A fifth disc in the box set features behind the scenes interviews with the cast and crew. The cover (revealed today) is by Tom Webster.
The set is currently at a pre-order price of £20 for either Download or CD, or can be bought as part of a UNIT - The New Series bundle which collects together the four UNIT - The New Series sets for £80 on CD or Download.

This Autumn, the Earth will once again come under threat from the arch-enemies of the Eleventh Doctor, the Silence. These alien parasites have been trapped on Earth since the events of The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, but Big Finish's new box-set will see them breaking through the Time Lord's trap, leaving the world defenceless!
Commanding the defence against the extraterrestrial invaders is Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), the daughter of legendary UNIT leader Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. Kate will once again be supported by her loyal technical advisor Petronella Osgood (Ingrid Oliver) and heroic UNIT Captain Josh Carter (James Joyce).
Reinforcing the UK team is international troubleshooter Lieutenant Sam Bishop (Warren Brown). Returning to duty after the apocalyptic events of UNIT: Extinction is Colonel Shindi (Ramon Tikaram), whose battle against the Autons has taken a heavy toll.
Together, the UNIT team will have to take on the resurgent threat of the Silence, now voiced by master-of-monsters and Big Finish Executive Producer Nicholas Briggs.
Keeping a close eye on both sides of the conflict is journalist Jacqui McGee (Tracy Wiles), desperate to uncover UNIT's activities to the public after her encounter with the Nestene Consciousness. But Jacqui's investigation uncovers a far greater conspiracy...
