The Cast sing the "Confidential Song"

"Doctor Who Confidential" have released a video clip from their upcoming "Night Terrors" behind the scenes programme due to air at 7.45pm on BBC3 on Saturday 3 September 2011.

You have to see it to believe it - and I love Matt's "Woah! We are not the Scissor Sisters!":

Review - "Let's Kill Hitler"

Well, "Doctor Who" certainly burst back onto our screens with one hell of a bang last night. "Let's Kill Hitler" was a funny, heartwrenching and exhausting episode - we were given answers...and more questions. Various little details were tied up nicely, such as the question of why River didn't regenerate in "Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead".

The episode started in a cornfield - a little nod to last season's "Vincent and the Doctor" perhaps - with Amy and Rory creating a rather unique crop circle to attract the Doctor's attention. Pretty extreme but if he's not answering his phone then what can you do? Matt Smith was rocking his new coat - thankfully, no long explanation of where he got it - and we had a new character who livened things up: Amy and Rory's long time friend, Mels.

"Night Terrors" Promo Pic

In the "Radio Times", Steven Moffat says the following about "Night Terrors":

Horror in "Doctor Who" comes in many forms and many places, and a cry of distress reaches the Tardis from the darkest and scariest place in the universe. But where is that exactly? This story began with Mark Gatiss and me chatting on the set of "Sherlock". "I'd like to do scary," he said. "Do you know where the scariest place in the Universe is?" I've known Mark for a while. If he's decided to tell me where the scariest place in the universe is, I'd better listen. "Where?" I quavered from behind my rapid-deployment "Doctor Who" fear sofa. "A child's bedroom," he answered. Parents of Britain - sorry, and good luck!

"Night Terrors" - Trailer and Introduction by Danny Mays

A review of "Let's Kill Hitler" will follow (probably tomorrow) but in the meantime, the BBC have released a couple of videos for next week's episode, "Night Terrors".

First up - the trailer:

"The Girl Who Waited" - Synopsis

The BBC have released the synopsis for episode 10 of the upcoming season, "The Girl Who Waited":

Amy is trapped in a quarantine facility for victims of an alien plague – a plague that will kill the Doctor in a day – as the time-travelling drama continues.

The Doctor can use the TARDIS to smash through time and break in, but then Rory is on his own. He must find Amy and bring her back to the TARDIS before the alien doctors can administer their medicine.

Rory is about to encounter a very different side to his wife. Can he rescue Amy before she is killed by kindness?

Amy is played by Karen Gillan, The Doctor by Matt Smith and Rory by Arthur Darvill.

Doctor Who Magazine have this to say about the episode:

The Doctor takes Amy and Rory for a relaxing break on Apalapucia, not realising that the planet is ravaged by a deadly disease – one that threatens even the life of the Doctor himself. But that’s not the biggest problem: Amy’s gone and got herself trapped in a very unusual hospital. How long will she have to wait before the Doctor comes back for her this time?

This episode will air on Saturday 10 September 2011.

"Let's Kill Hitler" - a few teasers...

Initially, I wasn't going to do this - but having received a few emails requesting "teasers" from "Let's Kill Hitler", I decided to just go for it. There aren't many - mainly because I think this episode needs to be seen as "unspoiled" as possible.

1. A banana. Ohh, that banana.

2. I see nearly naked people.

3. A bit "corny".

4. There's a blindfold...

5. When you start downloading, you never quite know what you're going to get.

6. Will someone ever come out of the closet?

Sorry but that's all you're getting. It was such fun watching it without knowing anything - so if you're offered spoilers...please say no. It really is so much better.

BBC Announces "One-Off Mini Episode"

The BBC Press Office have just announced the following:

A special, one-off mini-episode of Doctor Who starring Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith will be shown on BBC Three this Autumn.

The bonus episode, Death Is The Only Answer, has been confirmed as fans of the show eagerly await the start of the new Doctor Who series. The three-minute spin off has been specially written by children from a school in Basingstoke after they entered a BBC Learning and Doctor Who Confidential competition earlier this year.

The journey of how their mini-adventure goes from script to screen will be documented on Doctor Who Confidential, BBC Three, from Saturday 27 August at 8pm with the winning episode shown on Saturday 1 October. Details of the script, are a closely guarded secret but it includes a well known historical figure and a fez!

Episode Titles Confirmed

The Radio Times has now confirmed the upcoming episode titles as:

6.8 - Let's Kill Hitler

6.9 - Night Terrors

6.10 - The Girl Who Waited

6.11 - The God Complex

6.12 - Closing Time

6.13 - The Wedding of River Song

To read Steven Moffat's quirky yet intriguing "episode guide" in the Radio Times, then Life, Doctor Who & Combom have scans of the articles.

The final episode sounds fascinating and will, no doubt, turn our expectations and speculations firmly on their heads. There is really only one person she can marry...isn't there??

Interviews and Updates

Well, it was a busy day yesterday as the weekly TV Magazines were all published. Most, of course, had articles and features on "Let's Kill Hitler".

For those of you who are outside the UK, then Life, Doctor Who & Combom have full scans of the Radio Times, TV Times etc.

Digital Spy have a really good interview with Matt Smith - the interview contains "teasers" as opposed to "spoilers" and included this hopeful little snippet:

And you'll be in the TARDIS for the 50th Anniversary, is that right?
"I think so, as I'm led to believe. Especially now being involved and being a fan of Doctor Who - I'll be a lifelong fan of it - to be involved in a show... You look at the celebrations for Coronation Street - it was huge, wasn't it? And I think Doctor Who has a similar place and is an institution in similar ways and all the rest of it, and to be a part of it is just a real privilege."

Happy for Matt to still be there in 2013? Oh you bet!

There has also been another "Doctor Who Confidential" clip released. This time the cast and crew discuss "Let's Kill Hitler":

New Matt Smith Website Launched

FOMS-Tardis is a new Matt Smith website that has just launched. The name is quite well known on Twitter and Facebook (links below) and they have now branched out and created a website.

It's a good site - there are wallpapers, fanart, fanfiction, reviews, guides. Coming soon is a gallery and there is also a very good video section - basically your one stop shop for behind the scenes and interview videos.

It's worth checking out - and you can also order the terrific "bow ties are cool" wristbands from their shop.

More Promo Pics for Season 6, Part 2

The BBC have released another batch of promos for the upcoming season. These "character" pics are now becoming somewhat traditional and are obviously heavily photoshopped.

Personally, I'd love to know what's going on with Matt Smith's knees...
