According to Deadline.com Karen Gillan will star in a new horror film called "Oculus":

Karen Gillan will play the lead role in Oculus, a horror film being produced by Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans and fully financed by their Intrepid Pictures. Production is set for the fall in Alabama. The plot begins 10 years after a horrifying family incident left two young children orphans. Although authorities charged the brother with murder, his sister, Kaylie, believed that the true culprit was a haunted antique mirror. Now rehabilitated and in his 20s, the brother is ready to move on but Kaylie is determined to prove that the mirror was responsible for destroying their family. Anil Kurian will executive produce for Intrepid. U.S. distribution is being handled by FilmDistrict, and international by Focus Features International. Gillan, who currently stars on the BBC cult hit Doctor Who, is repped by UTA.

Intrepid, which recently announced it has acquired screen rights to the young-adult novel 13 Days To Midnight, has the Henry Cavill and Bruce Willis starrer The Cold Light Of Day coming out September 7 via Summit Entertainment. It also was behind Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds and the John Cusack-starrer The Raven.
