"Twice Upon A Time" - Overnight Viewing Figures


The overnight UK viewing figures show that "Twice Upon A Time" had an audience of 5.66 million (fifth most watched for the day) giving it a 29.1% share of the audience.  As a comparison, last year's Christmas episode, "The Return of Doctor Mysterio", had 5.68 million, a 27.1% share in the overnights and was the eighth most watched programme.

The Christmas Day overnight top 10 is as follows:

Mrs Brown's Boys - 6.8 million
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special - 6.5 million
Call the Midwife - 6.3 million
EastEnders - 6.3 million
Doctor Who - 5.7 million
The Queen - 5.3 million (BBC only)
Coronation Street - 5.1 million
BBC News - 4.2 million
The Highway Rat - 4.0 million
Emmerdale - 3.7 million

The consolidated viewing figures will be released next week.

"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" - Consolidated Ratings


"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" has a consolidated 7 day rating of 7.83 million - an increase of 2.15 million from the initial overnight figure of 5.68 million.  This beats last year's consolidated rating for "The Husbands of River Song" which was 7.69 million.

This puts "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" in joint sixth place for the week ending 25 December 2016:
  1. Call The Midwife: 9.21m (32.4%)
  2. Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas Special: 8.98m (37.0%)
  3. Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special: 8.94m (35.5%)
  4. The Great Christmas Bake Off: 8.21m (38.4%)
  5. Coronation Street: 8.20m (37.5%)
  6. Doctor Who: 7.83m (31.2%)
  7. EastEnders: 7.83m (30.7%)
  8. Emmerdale: 7.42m (34.7%)
  9. We’re Going On A Bear Hunt: 6.73m (23.5%) 
  10. Last Tango In Halifax: 6.71m (25.7%)

"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" - Overnight Ratings


The overnight UK viewing figures show that "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" had an estimated audience of 5.68 million (eighth most watched for the day) giving it a 27.1% share of the audience.  As a comparison, last year's Christmas episode, "The Husbands of River Song", had 5.77 million in the overnights and was also the eighth most watched programme.

The Christmas Day overnight top 10 is as follows:

The Queen - 7.7 million
Strictly Come Dancing - 7.17 million
Christmas Bake Off - 6.32 million
Mrs Brown's Boys - 6.13 million
Coronation Street - 6.12 million
Call the Midwife - 6.06 million
EastEnders - 5.90 million
Doctor Who - 5.68 million
Emmerdale - 4.73 million
Frozen - 4.65 million

"The Husbands of River Song" - Consolidated Ratings


""The Husbands of River Song" has a consolidated 7 day rating of 7.69 million (not including repeats) - an increase of 1.92 million from the initial overnight figure of 5.77 million.

This puts the episode sixth for the week on BBC1.  The consolidated ratings this series are:

"The Magician's Apprentice" - 6.54 million
"The Witch's Familiar" - 5.71 million
"Under the Lake" - 5.63 million
"Before the Flood" - 6.05 million
"The Girl Who Died" - 6.56 million

"The Husbands of River Song" - Overnight Viewing Figures


The overnight viewing figures show that 5.77 million (29.4% share) tuned in for "The Husbands of River Song".

"Downton Abbey" was the most watched show with 6.88 million - BBC1's highest rated show was "Strictly Come Dancing" with 6.49 million.  If you combine both the BBC and ITV figures for the Queen (6.1 on BBC1 and 1.3 on ITV) then it becomes the highest rated with 7.4 million.

Ratings in general are down from last year where, for instance, "Mrs Brown's Boys" achieved 7.61 million overnight last year - and this year it dropped to 6.4 million.  "Doctor Who" seems to have held up relatively well with only a small drop from "Last Christmas" at 6.34 million.

"Heaven Sent" - Consolidated Ratings


"Heaven Sent" has a consolidated 7 day rating of 6.19 million (not including repeats) - an increase of 1.68 million from the initial overnight figure of 4.51 million.

This puts the episode seventh for the week on BBC1.  The consolidated ratings this series are:

"Hell Bent" - Overnight Viewing Figures


The overnight viewing figures show that 4.80 million (21.5% share) tuned in for "Hell Bent" - that's an increase from last week's 4.51 million.  The figure is slightly inflated due to the fact that "Strictly" overran into the "Doctor Who" timeslot (a similar thing happened with "Heaven Sent" and "Face the Raven").

"Strictly Come Dancing" was, of course, top again with 10.50 million.

"Face the Raven" has a consolidated 7 day rating of 6.05 million (not including repeats) - an increase of 1.63 million from the initial overnight figure of 4.42 million.
