"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" - Appreciation Index Score


"The Return of Doctor Mysterio" had an Appreciation Index score of 82 - exactly the same as previous Christmas Specials  "The Husbands of River Song" and "Last Christmas".

The Audience Appreciation Index (AI) is a score out of 100 which is used as an indicator of the public’s appreciation for a show. Over 90 is considered exceptional, 85 or over is excellent, 60 or less is poor, and less than 55 is very poor.

The AI scores for Series 9 are below:

"Before the Flood" - AI Score


"Before the Flood" had an Audience Appreciation Index (AI) score of 83.  The AI scores so far this series are:

"The Magician's Apprentice" - 84
"The Witch's Familiar" - 83
"Under the Lake" - 84
"Before the Flood" - 83

The Audience Appreciation Index (AI) is a score out of 100 which is used as an indicator of the public’s appreciation for a show. Over 90 is considered exceptional, 85 or over is excellent, 60 or less is poor, and less than 55 is very poor.

There's a weird kind of consistency developing so far this series - with part one of a story scoring a point higher than part two.

"Under the Lake" - AI Score and Ratings Update


"Under the Lake" had an Audience Appreciation Index (AI) score of 84.  The AI scores so far this series are:

"The Magician's Apprentice" - 84
"The Witch's Familiar" - 83
"Under the Lake" - 84

The Audience Appreciation Index (AI) is a score out of 100 which is used as an indicator of the public’s appreciation for a show. Over 90 is considered exceptional, 85 or over is excellent, 60 or less is poor, and less than 55 is very poor.

Figures also show that over 1 million watched "Under the Lake" on catch-up on Sunday, raising the viewing figure from 3.70 million to 4.75 million.

"The Witch's Familiar" - AI Score & Ratings Update


"The Witch's Familiar" had an Audience Appreciation Index (AI) score of 83 ("The Magician's Apprentice" was 84).  Series 8 achieved an average score of 83.3.

The Audience Appreciation Index (AI) is a score out of 100 which is used as an indicator of the public’s appreciation for a show. Over 90 is considered exceptional, 85 or over is excellent, 60 or less is poor, and less than 55 is very poor.

Figures also show that over 1 million watched "The Witch's Familiar" on catch-up on Sunday, raising the viewing figure from 3.70 million to 4.80 million.

The omnibus edition of "The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar" had an audience of 0.64 million - the Scotland v USA match on ITV at the same time had 2.1 million viewers.

"The Snowmen" - AI Figure


"The Snowmen" had an AI (Appreciation Index) score of 87.  Anything over 85 is considered "excellent".  In comparison with previous years, "The Snowmen" matched the highest Christmas AI score for the show with "The End of Time part 1".  Last year, "The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe" managed 84.

"The Snowmen" had one of the highest Christmas AI figures - beaten by "Downton Abbey" and "Call the Midwife" who both scored 90.

The repeat of "The Snowmen" last night on BBC3 gained the episode another 0.56m viewers.  It managed 7.59m on it's first screening on Christmas Day.
