Now this is something special - and something every serious figure collector will want to have. Big Chief Studios have been authorised by BBC Worldwide to produce this absolutely stunningly detailed figure.
As stated on Forbidden Planet - where the figure is available for pre-order at £149.99 - it comes with a long list of accessories:
Sporting a tweed jacket and cool bow tie, the Eleventh Doctor and his companions Amy Pond and her husband Rory Pond, travel through time and space aboard the TARDIS. Sometimes dangerous, often life-threatening, but always exciting, the adventures of the Doctor and his companions are celebrated with the release of the Limited Edition 1:6 Scale Collector Series Figures from BIG Chief Studios Ltd
Our artists meticulously studied comprehensive reference materials to develop the most accurately scaled collector’s figure. First creating a realistic and authentic character portrait of the Eleventh Doctor as portrayed by actor Matt Smith and replicating the Time Lord’s trademark costume and signature accessories in exacting detail. The attention to detail is second to none and I'm extremely intrigued by the "6 x interchangeable hands". Judging from the photos below, you can also remove the jacket:
Obviously this figure is a limited edition and the price at £149.99 might seem a little high - but once you take into account not just the accessories but the scale and detail of this figure then it certainly looks worthwhile value. Serious collectors, of course, are going to want to get their hands on this as soon as possible and, at the moment, Forbidden Planet are quoting an "expected" date of 10 January 2012. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of "no presents, just money please" requests at Christmas...
